A 27-year-old man has confessed to attempting to sell his daughter but says he did so as a result of hardship.
Frank Abisah, the suspect, is currently in the grips of Berekum police for the alleged offense.
ACP Ebenezer Ampofo, the Divisional Police Commander of Berekum Division who confirmed the news to Adom News said the police were yet to carry investigations into the matter.
When the suspect was questioned by reporters, he admitted to the offense, saying he was doing so to make some money to start a business he did not disclose to the reporter.
On how much he intended to sell the girl for, Frank said he wanted to sell her for 50,000 Ghana Cedis.
The suspect said he had three children with the girl he was going to sell being the oldest of the three.
