Audio: NDC to be banned in 940 towns at Akyem Abuakwa

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is likely to be banned in all 940 towns and villages at Akyem Abuakwa for failing to render an unqualified apology and pacify the gods of the land.

The Akyem people believe the unsavory comment made about their chief, Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin II and his subjects have brought the name of the stool into disrepute.

The only way to get their pound of flesh, Stool Secretary, Daniel Marfo Ofori Atta stressed, is to ban the NDC from Okyeman.

“Leadership of the NDC has shown us gross disrespect and we will not engage with them until they pacify the stool,” he stated in an interview on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem program, Wednesday.

NDC Ashanti Regional Secretary, Kwame Zu has incurred the wrath of the chiefs and people of Akyem Abuakwa after he claimed but for the intervention of former President John Mahama, they would still be sharing water with animals.

This political jab gone bad was targeted at President Nana Akufo-Addo due to delays in opening the Kejetia market for traders.

The Akyem Abuakwa stool has taken a strong exception to the comment and has called on the NDC leadership to come to the palace to apologize in three days.

The ultimatum elapsed today Wednesday, September 25, 2019, but the opposition party has not met the demands of the chiefs.

Based on this backdrop, the Stool Secretary said the ban will be effective by close of day.

Per the ban, he said no NDC member will be allowed into Okyenhene’s palace in an official capacity.

Also, NDC will be banned from attending any function held by Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin II.

Nana Ofori Atta added that all chiefs in the 940 towns and villages seen to be dealing with the NDC will be punished by the stool.

Unless the NDC comes to pacify the gods and stools at Akyem Abuakwa, he said, the ban will be in force indefinitely.
