Leaked Chats: Takoradi girls kidnappers ‘ritualists’?

It is emerging that the two suspected kidnappers of the Takoradi girls are ritualists taking into account details of their leaked Facebook conversation prior to their arrest, MyNewsGh.com reports.

Leaked chats between Samuel Udoetuk Mills and John Oji sighted by MyNewsGh.com reveal that the two planned of making some rituals and therefore visited prominent shrines in the Northern and Volta regions.

Though their chats appear coded, one of them tells the other the prowess of the latest native doctor he visited and what was demanded of him.

“He does wonders here. Anywhere you are he can command money for you. When are you coming over”, one of them asked in the leaked chat intercepted by this portal.

Others read “He’s saying that if you get the money you will come and thank him. But you have to buy items. He is asking me if you have your own private room. Weytin you won use do the Selina na human blood”

Ruth Quayson, Priscilla Blessing Bentum and Priscilla Koranchie are believed to have been kidnapped between August 2018 and January 2019 and have since not been found.

Chief mastermind of the act, Samuel Udoetuk-Wills a Nigerian was jailed recently but is still facing other charges before Sekondi High Court after he escaped from jail in December 2018 following his first arrest.

Sam Udoetuk Wills and John Oji, used coded language on kidnapping and other crimes in their conversations on social media networking platform, Facebook.

According to Chief State Attorney Patience Klinogo their interaction was detected on the mobile phone of the second accused, John Oji, after Police arrested him on 4th June, 2019 at Aflao around the Ghana-Togo border.

“Facebook chats from his mobile phone between A1 and A2 revealed coded language on kidnapping and blood sacrifice as well as discussions on drugs which could be administered to victims to stupor,” she said.

Continuing her statement to the Sekondi High Court, she also revealed various mobile phone numbers that were traced to the two accused persons after they used them to receive money from victims’ relations.



“On 6th June 2019, John Oji, in his investigation caution statement stated that he came from Nigeria to Takoradi in the first week of December 2018 to see Sam Udoetuk Wills, who is the first accused, upon invitations from him. Oji admitted that he knew the two mobile numbers used to receive ransom from parents by Wills. That he used to communicate and WhatsApp Wills on same.”

The two accused persons, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them by the Chief State Attorney in her amended charge sheet.
