Politicians employ various tactics to intimidate their opponents when it is getting close to major elections.
The most commonly used are propaganda and communist inferior tactics which are underhand comments or sneaky behaviors.
But, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Tema East, Daniel Nii Kwatei Titus-Glover is changing the style.
As an ardent fan of dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, the MP said he has adopted the name.
He has vowed to defeat the newly elected candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Isaac Ashai Odamtten who is the Chief Executive, Tema Metropolitan Assembly.
The MP, who described him [Odamtten] as a novice in politics, said: “I will whip him in the election like my child.”
The NDC has been unsuccessful in its bid to annex that seat since it lost it to the NPP in 2012 by three votes.
It is hoping with a vibrant candidate like Mr Odamtten, the NDC can win the Tema East parliamentary seat in the 2020 general election.
But, the MP on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem program, Wednesday said that will continue to be a dream.
He argued his good leadership, honesty and humility and the service he has rendered to the people in the constituency are what would help him beat Mr. Odamtten.
He added that considering the development he has brought to the area, the people would give him an overwhelming victory in return to enable him to continue the good work.
