President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed James Oppong-Boanuh as acting Inspector General of Police (IGP).
In a statement signed by Director of Communication, Eugene Arhin, the President directed the IGP, David Asante-Apeatu to hand over to Mr. Oppong-Boanuh who is his deputy and proceed on leave with immediate effect, pending his retirement from the Ghana Police Service on Wednesday, 14th August 2019.
"The President thanked him for his many years of service to the country and wished him well his retirement," the statement added.
