Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Northern Regional Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Mr. Mohammed Yusif Tanko said there is no any conflict between Dagombas and Konkombas as media report indicated earlier.
DSP Tanko made this known in a recorded tape on Uniiq FM, that what was circulated as conflict between Dagombas and Konkombas at Nakpache, a village in the Yendi Municipality in the Northern Region of Ghana is not true, but rather misunderstanding between two factions which led to the burnt down of houses and one person killed and another injured.
He made known that measures involving Traditional rulers of the two places are metering out to resolve the issue amicably.
However, the factions involved have been entreated to remain calm as they look into the matter toward peaceful resolution.
